Reminder: Send Event-Related Communications through Events Module

Reminder: Send Event-Related Communications through Events Module

As we slowly return to some sense of normalcy during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen an increase in campus events. We would like to remind users about the expectation of using the events module to send events related communications.

Unsure if your communication should be sent through an event? We’ve included some helpful scenarios below.

Send communication through events if...

  • Event communication links to a registration page
  • Registrations will be taken and attendance will be tracked
  • Sending various communications about the same event
    • Remember to use event naming conventions to distinguish one communication from another (ex. Invitation – INV, Save the Date – SAVE, etc.)

Send communication through marketing effort if...

  • Stand alone announcement about an open event with no intentions to send invitations or collect registrations
  • Advertising various events from one communication with no links to registration pages
  •  Free, walk-up event open to everyone where no registrations will be taken and no attendance will be tracked

*Please note that you must attend a GAIL Events Management training in order to use the Events module.

If you have not participated in an events training, you can register for the next class here. If you need extra guidance on how to process your event communication, please refer to G-Wiz or submit a ticket to AskIT for assstance.
