Greetings from the UGA Alumni Association,
To better serve you, UGA’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations has transitioned to a modern constituent management system designed to streamline alumni outreach efforts and upgrade the previous system, which was more than 18 years old.
The new system allows the UGA Alumni Association to improve the management of mail, email and in-person interactions to better maintain constituent contact information. You can now access this contact information in an online alumni directory and view your individual giving history from that directory portal, located at gail.uga.edu. Follow the directions below to create your account and update your alumni profile in the new directory.
- Visit gail.uga.edu.
- Click on “Login/Create Account.”
- Select “New User Registration.”
If you have any trouble registering, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
With the implementation of the new system and recognizing that alumni now use other email service providers such as Gmail and Yahoo as their primary contact, we reevaluated our business processes and decided to discontinue our support for the email forwarding service which was part of our older system.
As a user of that complimentary email forwarding address service, please note that your email address ending in @ugaalum.uga.edu will no longer work after 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014.
At this time, please take immediate steps to redirect communications away from this “ugaalum” email address. This includes updating websites, email signatures and/or print collateral that might feature the address.
Keep in mind that if you use this email address to receive communications from the university, you will need to update your preferred address to ensure you continue to receive news, invitations and offerings from the University of Georgia.
This decision was made with the goal of continuing to serve as good stewards of UGA’s resources. We understand this change may be disruptive to your personal and/or professional communications and we apologize for any temporary inconvenience it causes you. We believe the benefits of migrating to a new and more accessible system outweight the inconvenience. This change is positive to the health and vibrancy of our beloved UGA and was not made without extensive contemplation.
