When to Refresh Selections

Knowing which selection to use in your direct marketing effort or event invitation can sometimes be tricky, but it doesn’t need to be! In this blog post, we’ll walk you through how to look up existing selections, what each type of selection is used for, and how to know if your selection needs to be refreshed before it’s used.

Looking Up Existing Selections

  1. Go to the Analysis functional area then click View Selections
  2. Here you’ll be able to search for existing selections with your naming convention
  3. If you find an existing selection that seems like what you need, send a ticket to AskIT and they can confirm whether or not it will be good for you to use. 

Static vs. Dynamic Selections

There are two types of selections that can be used with GAIL communications: Static and Dynamic. Once you’ve identified an existing selection that you want to use, scroll over to the Selection Type column.

Static selections can be used with both marketing efforts and event invitations, however they only refresh themselves automatically in a marketing effort.

Dynamic selections can only be used in event invitations, and will refresh themselves automatically when the invitation is processed. 

To Refresh or Not to Refresh
