How to Query LAIT Scores

How to Query LAIT Scores

Query Builders – There is a new prospect tool that has been added to GAIL recently called LAIT.

Linkage—Ability—Interest—Timing (LAIT)

The research score known as the LAIT score is one method of tracking prospects by prioritizing fundraising efforts. It assists fundraisers in directing cultivation and solicitation energies toward those individuals or organizations which are most likely to provide funding.

There are several ways to pull these scores using GAIL Query depending on what you are wanting to pull.

How to pull the new L.A.I.T scores via query:

There are several ways to pull these scores depending on what you are wanting to pull.

The first way is if you are looking to prospect using the L. and the A. scores. You will add/open a constituent view query and navigate to the Model Scores and Ratings node. Expand the node and then expand the Attributes folder as well. Select the attribute you are looking for, the A (Ability) or the L (Linkage) attribute. When adding the criteria to your query you will want to choose the field “Value” and double-click/drag/click it over to the “Include records where” statement and continue with setting up your criteria. In most cases you will choose “greater than or equal to” and then specify the number.

If you want to consider both the A. and the L. together, then you would add the L. attribute as an “and” statement along with the A. This will give you everyone with a combined A. and L. score of 40 or more or whatever the actual criteria it is that you set. See below:

query2

If you want to pull the complete L.A.I.T. score, then you will need to pull it from a Prospect’s opportunity. In a constituent query you will navigate to the Prospect node and expand it. From there you will go to Prospect Plan and expand that node. Within the Prospect Plan choose the Opportunities node and expand it. The LAIT Scores will be the 5th option from the top. The field you will want to select is L.A.I.T. Score and you will bring it over to the “include records where” statement and define your criteria. This will also usually be a “greater than or equal to” statement.

query3

You can also pull on the variable scores that make up the L.A.I.T. Score from here as well, but keep in mind this is only looking at Prospects and will not include people who do not have a plan with an opportunity.

The final place from where you can pull the L.A.I.T Scores is from the LAIT Values node. Here is where you find each score that makes up the L. and the A. score as well as the calculated score for A. and L. This is where you would come if you wanted a precise representation of the score as it includes the decimal points associated with the scores where as the Model Scores and Rating attributes do not. It works the same as the attributes and opportunities L.A.I.T scores in that you select the one you are wanting to pull and bring it over to the “include records where” statement and compete your criteria. This will usually be a “greater than or equal to” statement.

query4

In addition to using these in a query pull you can also add them to export definitions or the results fields within a query. In an export definition they will be located in the same places as in the query and will require filter criteria when you add the fields.
